Background
I was born in a small suburb of a shithole town in northern IL, growing up i was a football player and a big pot head. In my younger years I since i was smoking weed and wanting to fit in with the "cool" kids was very easy for me growing up with 2 older brothers that also smoke and live the same life style. One passed away early and the other is out there somewhere. I n ever did find him. i always was the kid that could find what you wanted. and i got a reputation for it. When i was 16 i got caught up selling some weed to a narc kid, and i learned my lessons real fast. luckily i was a minor still and it was just a petty amount of pot. i got lucky and they gave me a slap on the wrist and some community service cleaning dog bowls at the animal shelter and picking trash up at the parks. After that i knew who and who not to deal with. And i managed to keep my head just low enough. But it never stopped me. i still continued down that path, it started small, dime bags here and there and eventually i was hiding a pound under my bed. i spent a lot of time doing criminal activities. Stealing, selling drugs, robbing people. I always got a thrill from braking into houses and taking stuff. It was hard a first, very nerve racking, but it gets easy after awhile. Just put in a little homework before you hit your target, find an entrance and BAM your in and everything is yours at your fingertips. Cars were no issue to get running either but what you did afterword's was the problem. they were to hard to get rid of, and a lot of heat on your head. i eventually settled just selling drugs and whatever i could get my hands on. i always had a knack for coming across what i needed. i did proper business though. you can be shady but if you don't do good business threes nobody to pay you. . But I eventually grew out of it. what are the odds i would finally get my shit together just for the world to lose its own shit. Just my luck but strangely enough those skills come in handy these days. I did what most people from my area did and worked in metal shops or some side construction here and there to make ends meat.
Strange things started to happen. my tools would be missing but would show up days later. People were acting kind of off, kind of strange. i didn't take notice at first but it started to become very common. we kept hearing strange stories on the radio and on the news. things got tense. i was just outside of Chicago on that faithful day. heard news reports of something called a rift...or maybe a rip? I'm not sure but what i do know is they said madness followed these rifts whoever they went. I saw one open outside Chicago....i couldn't believe my eyes. somehow i made it out. by the grace of god.
I tried to make it back home but the city was in chaos. Luckily i didn't have many people to worry about. My parents and that's about it. it was time to worry about myself and maybe try to link up with a friend outside of the city to get away from the population.. i made a plan to get to my parents and get myself armed with the weapons in the house. but when i got there the place had burned down and there was no sign of my parents. i looked as if he had taken the guns and and left in a hurry because the vehicle was gone along with the guns...I bet there headed to Tennessee to the family home in the mountains. I think i will head that way to after i find my friend Ryan.
I managed to find Ryan. we ended up getting recruited into a local militia to fight the hordes and try to get things under control but that didn't last all that long. At some point we saw everything falling apart and me and Ryan took the opportunity to leave and head south knowing winter was coming up soon, and we sure didn't want to get stuck in the cold norther IL winter with these rifts and strange happening's.
we managed to make it south into Indiana and got tied up in Indianapolis for some time. That was another shit show. we were captured and held prisoner awhile until at some point they put us to work. We became a part of them for a short period, going on ranging's and looking for supplies. but as always, anything good must fall apart in this world. It only takes one man to ruin everything. in the fray me and Ryan were separated...i really hope he's still out there doing what he does his best.
I decided to head south further to the family home in Tennessee but i pulled off into the Louisville Area of Knox county to stop and rest. i seem to have found a community here. maybe its worth sticking around for awhile. seems warm enough here and plenty of people to live among. With what i know now, i just got to keep my head low and scrounge what i can. i always have....and now i always will. thats just how the world is now. and ill be damned if you call us the "lucky".
