He is a gentle and curious soul. Not impulsive or cruel. Happy to just be in the room and included quietly. Watching instead of participating. Doesn't like to be asked complicated things or to be interrupted in the middle of a hyper fixation.
Messy brown hair, looks younger than he is, hazel eyes, 5'9. Lanky build with muscular arms due to all the mechanic work and projects he enjoys doing.
Killian knows sign language. Something his parents learned and helped teach him when they found he was non-verbal. Killian can talk but often prefers to use his hands to express himself. He also shows his affection through acts of service. Carving figurines of creatures or vehicles he saw with intense detail. Can take apart and put together just about any automobile. Having memorized manuals and working beside his father for years in his mechanic shop.
Killian didn't know his mind worked differently than others until he was 13 and finished high school. His mother worked from home and home schooled Killian. His father owned a rather well off mechanic shop a block away. He lived blissfully in this bubble of peace and routine. The fact he was on the spectrum and often non-verbal wasn't a problem for his parents who worked with him instead of against him. Killian would often go with his father and worked along side him in the shop as soon as he was big enough to turn a wrench. The routine and expected outcome of vehicles was relaxing to him. He never aspired for more. He was happy to do the same thing every day. Wake up. Breakfast with his mother. Walk to the shop and work in the garage with his father. Never needing to interact with customers. Everyday was an exciting new puzzle to figure out what was wrong with the vehicles brought in. Head back home and enjoy dinner as a family. A few hours for personal projects. Then to bed and repeat the next day. Until something broke the routine. His parents started to watch the news a lot. His mother on the phone in upset tones with family he only saw during Christmas. They wanted them to come to New York. To be together and safe. Safe from what? Demons was the closest thing he could imagine them to look like. The outbreak hit mid-drive to their family. Police barricaded roads, forcing everyone to the docks and onto boats to Braddock Island. His parents and him stuck together as they got shuffled around from camp to camp. Avoiding danger best they could. Unfortunately their best wasn't enough. Both his parents became infected. Leaving Killian all alone and confused. Still looking for a safe space and peaceful routine.
