Notable Skills
Linette- with 13 years of schooling and 4 years of on-hand experience, is an extremely skilled General Surgeon. Adapting well to the mental strain of the hospital environment, she’s created a very strong mental fortitude for herself.
Background
Born in Georgia, Linette’s early life was rather smooth-sailing. Her mother- a woman in the Air Force, and her father- a surgeon. It would be her father who would inspire her later endeavor in life, while her brother took to following their mother’s footsteps instead. She grew up content, well loved, educated- and especially; inspired.
She was all too aware of war going on(To specifically name, the Vietnam war)- especially with her mother in the Air Force. Often, it filled the radio broadcasts and news when Linette was a small girl. Having always been curious, especially of nuanced topics she had a hard time wrapping her head around- she often asked her mother and father of these wars. They wouldn’t keep much from her, though it was the community itself that influenced her need to be a doctor.
From stories she heard of her father of returning veterans who would show to the hospital he worked in- to veterans themselves- or the constant whirring along of the news on radio, the death tolls- a passion in Linette grew regarding the great amount of suffering of the people of her home country.
Linette found her purpose fairly early, in life- and it was the wish to alleviate suffering. And how she would do it, wouldn’t come from a source too far. She would want to become a surgeon, like her father.
And so, her studies in early school were dedicated to getting into a medical school- and likewise, soon after highschool- she’d attend college. This learning career would take 13 full years of schooling- before Maeve settled in South Carolina. Working as a General Surgeon for 4 years. Until, 2000. At first it was all randomly attributed to drugs and usual crime- Linette heard the early reports of the strange happenings in New York. And truthfully, when she’d heard of the Shell Station massacre- to her, it was another tragedy. Admittedly a strange one- but tragedies weren’t often normal.
It wasn’t until the infection began to truly spread that Linette was beginning to become worried. Though, not listening to her gut would be her first mistake. As people began to pour in to the hospital at an unusual rate, it would be a patient brought in by police to be checked that would prompt Linette’s swift return home. Being they were held down by straps to a stretcher- she was surprised to watch the person flail so violently it turned over with a loud clamor. However as she moved to help lift it back up- she was met with a hand violently clawing at her face.
Nails dragging harshly from her brow, she felt her world slip just as the patients fingers reached the divot of her eye.
Linette would wake up soon after- in the hospital. Treated- but there would be no recovering her eye. Advised to go home, and take leave until she was healed enough to return- she did a little more than that. Returning home, she packed her bags- and returned to her parents house in Georgia.
It would be here Linette camped out the rest of the ‘end of beginning’ to the infection. With the states collapsing, her parents found it best to contact a nearby friend- at the Coast of Georgia. A passionate fisherman and lover of the sea, he was more than happy to sail with Linette North using his trawler. In search of her brother- whose last whereabouts were on a cruiseliner- Linette would find perhaps stopping at the island with the gigantic Cruise ship sticking out the side of it would be a good place to look.
