Elliot Hartman

24 years old
Typical
105 kg
Personality
Elliot is jovial and generous at heart. He wishes to make friends wherever he goes and is keen to share what little he has to achieve that. He is, however, not naive, and knows he can't help anyone else or make friends if he winds up dead. He has a penchant for drink, and would likely trade make an asymmetric trade to get his hands on a case of beer. He is slow to anger, but when he feels he is being taken advantage of or the prospect of friendship is futile, Elliot can become almost irrationally angry. More at himself than those around him, as he feels it is a consequence of his own shortcomings.
Appearance
Elliot is a young man in his early 20s. He has blonde hair and stubble adorning his face. His eyes are tired from the stress of living in this world, but still shine bright with his youth. He is of average build, albeit with low muscle tone.
Notable Skills
Elliot is handy, having been taught how to use all manner of tools by his father. He also knows how to dress basic wounds, having obtained many in his childhood. He is charismatic, having had many friends at his university.
Background
Elliot grew up in a stable home outside of Louisville, a happy and curious child. His father was an outdoorsman and would often take him out hunting or have him watch as he worked on the old car in the garage. In high school he never stood out much; he had friends, yes, and he made decent enough grades, yes, but he never felt quite at place there. When he was eighteen, he enrolled at Rochester University in New York and started studying business. While in college, Elliot really began to come out of his shell and made many friends. He picked up many bad habits, and would often attend house parties and generally neglect his studies. Picking up the bottle and rarely putting it down, Elliot began to worry as graduation loomed closer. What was he going to do? Would he return to Louisville? Would he be able to find work and a life elsewhere? Would he even graduate? Against all odds, he did graduate though, certainly not with any honors. About 3 months after his graduation, he saw an ad in the papers. A small company in Braddock Island was hiring, and Elliot jumped at it. He worked there for some time, continuing in his bad habits- until the outbreak came. At first, Elliot didn't take it seriously enough, but after his first time nearly being torn apart by a crazed infected, he changed his tune. For a week after the outbreak began, Elliot did all he could to stockpile provisions, canned goods, dry foods, books and books just to keep him sane, and boarded himself up in his 3rd story apartment building, watching the world collapse around him. It’s been almost 2 years, and he’s running out of cans. If he’s gonna keep surviving he’s going to have to leave the safety of his apartment and try to make a living in this hellscape. Now, far away from any family or friends he had before, Elliot must find a way to survive and perhaps find a place where he finally belongs, against all odds.
