Background

Tristan was born in Kentucky with his Twin Sister in the year 1985, growing up in a wealthy ranching family. he was taught the importance of hard work and responsibility, being taught the ideals of the Callahan family and to stick to them. Over time as he grew up he became fond of literature, his way of finding a bit of solitude in his big and most times rowdy family. He spent a lot of time with his big brother and twin sister, where they'd roughhouse and go off on horseback riding adventures, going where adventure calls to them! Athena the twin sister always outpacing him, but not outpacing him in height as Tristan hit a growth spurt and Athena stayed small. he took an interest in tractors and engines, asking his dad if he can help fix their combine harvester, and Michael agreed, showing him how to fix reel shafts and adjust bearings so the machine can rotate smoothly and effectively. a few years later his little sister and brother were born, Tristan kept more to his little brother Harvey, who oftentimes felt overlooked and Tristan didn't like to see his brother sad, so he gifted his brother a walkman, where he'd listen to music with him all the time, in turn Harvey taught him spanish over the course of a few years! his accent is horrible but he can pronounce the words correctly! even if Harvey laughs at him. Tristan was only 13 when rumors of some allergy/illness that was plaguing people, Tristan and his family decided to hunker down at their ranch as it was about the only option they had in the moment, but eventually the ranch was overrun 3 months later and staying was no longer a card in the deck, his mother and father fighting off the infected as the family escaped, the mother succumbing to the plantlife as they ran away, never seen with his own eyes, but told to him by Athena and his big brother Vincent. Tristan, attempting to process this, sitting in the back of the truckbed as they drove away. their father managed to get them out and to a safe place, but without cost of his own life as he succumbed to his own wounds from the ranch attack four days later. this was very rough for Tristan and the family, but they had their aunt Katherine and grandpa Jedidiah to take care of them in this new place. Tristan and Athena decided from there on then, that'd they grow and improve to make sure their family is never hurt again. As Tristan grew up alongside Athena they both became stronger in the hopes to never see another one of their family die to something preventable ever again, he spent nine years in a shelter dedicated to housing survivors, Tristan hated it all at first but with his family around he slowly got into the paces of what it meant to survive in a world like this, seeing danger in most people and not speaking to them even if he didn't, socializing with anyone he doesn't already know was never easy for him, at one point he saw Athena training with a lever action rifle, finding an interest in the art of firearms, he steals a revolver from his grandfather and trains with it in secret, sometimes showing off to Athena and ending up missing three times in a row. as well as taking an interest in tinkering with random electronics and trying to build new things, learning most of this from an engineer in the shelter. But in this time in the shelter he did end up finding people to be close with, such a George and John, George taking an interest in Tristan's mechanic work and Tristan taking an interest in his company, John, being a giant Tristan found during an expedition, Jedidiah ended up adopting him and Tristan grew closer to him afterwards, genuinely considering him family after a while. Eventually their grandfather falls ill and the shelter doesn't have the capabilities to treat him, so the family moves to the Northbank QZ in a desperate attempt to get their grandfather treatment, most people got in but a few were barred from entry, including Athena and Tristan, and their little sister Lya. Not that it mattered as the family came back out a few hours later with the horrible news that Jedidiah didn't have long left, so they send out messages to any surviving family in the hopes they can visit Jed in time, but unfortunately Jed passed away a few days later, now the family is simply trying to gather themselves and figure out what to do next, whatever they do? it will be as a family.
