Personality

Alcina is a dry and reserved woman. Often straight to business and always with some degree of emotional detachment. One thing you will notice if you spend any time with her, however, is that she cares- even if she tries to not show it. What could be taken as hostility or social aversion is, in reality, awkwardness. She rarely maintains eye contact, and will only ever speak above a low murmur if irritated. She’s dedicated the majority of her time and effort in the apocalypse to helping others, and expects little in return. Struggles to find somewhere to fit in, but if you let her, she’s a fiercely loyal and protective woman. Over the years, she’s had to protect herself and others from harm. Wether that’s from infected, or other survivors. She’s not typically a violent person, but will intervene to help those she sees as good people. Violence is the last resort, but she is very much capable of it, and has killed people in the past, in self defence.

Appearance

Alcina stands at 188cm tall (6'2''), with broad shoulders and a sturdy frame. She's a rather physically imposing woman, with dark auburn eyes, black hair and pale skin. Her face is angular and quite expressionless. She has multiple scars over her forearms, back, chest, legs and two prominent scars across her face. Her arms, chest, back and neck are covered in floral tattoos. She's a surprisingly masculine woman, and speaks in a relatively low, dull tone. Despite her outward appearance, however- the veneer of stoic cynicism is easily broken with a little probing. Her often considerate and compassionate actions belie her often intimidating demeanor.

Background

Family: Father - Albrecht Gottfried Striege, Deceased (Born 1943), Mother - Luisa Katja Striege, Deceased (Born 1941) Childhood: - Born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1976 - Mother died of lukemia when Alcina was 14 - Father was a civil engineer in Germany - Not particularly poor, but never was too wealthy, either - Alcina was always a smart kid, albeit a tad antisocial - She and her father moved to the US when she was 15, having finished school Pre-Outbreak: - Father moved to the US (Cleveland, Ohio) for a new job opportunity, but it was really to get away from the old home. - Despite how much he tried to be there for Alcina, his wife’s death affected him greatly. - Alcina was out of education for two years before landing an engineering apprenticeship at 17 - She finished her apprenticeship at 19, 1 year before the outbreak Post Outbreak: - Alcina really struggled, at first. Not because she couldn’t handle her own, quite the opposite- her 56 year old father was the thing she was concerned for. As the infection spread into populated areas, she looked for help in other survivors. - Alcina and her Father survived for eight years, finding help in other survivors in Ohio. These survivour groups would eventually become the fungal followers, though Alcina and Albrecht never really caught on to their beliefs, instead making something of a name for themselves by being knowledgeable and helpful people in their community, setting up necessary infrastructure and applying their knowledge to assist the group they were with. - In 2007, as the deadzones expanded rapidly and unexpectedly, Alcina lost her father, who was 64 at the time. It was because of this she decided to leave for coalition lands, feeling she had no place with the followers. - at the age of 32, in 2009, she found herself in Kentucky, having made something of a nomad of herself. Purposeless and without anyone to call friends or family, she was unsure of so much…
