Soraya Sarvini
She/Her
31 years old
Typical

Personality
Personality Soraya is fiercely independent. The second she was able to move out of her parents apartment, she did. She is known to take life by the balls. She is also a social butterfly and will introduce herself to everyone in the room if needed. Soraya will include everyone in the conversation even if that person doesn't need to be but don't be swayed away from telling her your deepest, darkest secrets. She is a truly loyal and compassionate companion if you let her close. Having spent crucial years of development in New York, Soraya views herself as a local and isn't afraid to act like one. She can be extremely blunt and strong in her opinions. She is a speak first and answers questions later kinda gal and isn't afraid to make it known. Her realistic look on life can make her somewhat of a downer, however she never genuinely means to bring down the mood. Soraya is an intelligent young woman, despite never going to college. She can come across patronizing, acting as if everyone should be able to think on her wavelength, however she usually means well. Soraya is resourceful. She will do her best to use what she has already to handle any task in front of her. However, she has an unmatchable ability to identify different species of trees, flowers, vegetables, herbs, medicinal plants, etc. All the time spent working as a florist gave her access to stacks of plant magazines and endless hours of waiting for customers. She excels in anything biological, and while she was never trained in first aid, she has a knack for it.
Appearance
Soraya is about 5'1, with a fit, borderline athletic build. She has medium length, dark brown hair that always looks messy. Typically she wears half of it down and half in a messy bun. Soraya is of Persian descent, with beautiful and symmetrical features. If it weren't for her baggy clothing and rugged look, she could be out of a magazine. Soraya has large, deer-like eyes with deep brown irises, almost so dark you can't see her pupils. She has no visible tattoos, however she does have two peonies that curve down her abdomen.
Background
Soraya Sarvini was born in 1980 in rural Pennsylvania. She lived there happily until the age of six, when her father was offered a better paying job in New York. Her parents and her left the small comforts of their farm house for the bigger and busier Brooklyn, NY. After moving to New York, Soraya would become the oldest of five. Her childhood was relatively normal. She considered herself the autocrat of averageness. Never the best and yet never the worst, Soraya coasted through life - her siblings' accomplishments soon surpassing her own mediocre work.
Pre-outbreak, Soraya was working as a florist in a shop in Brooklyn. She was content with her job at the flower shop on the corner. It was a small, run down place only being kept alive by its aging owner and Soraya. She may not have ever expressed it but Soraya enjoyed working in the small store.
One bride had begged the store owner to send someone to visit the wedding venue with her. Soraya, being the only other employee, went reluctantly. She had never done a consult, nor understood why the bride believed the small flower store from Brooklyn respectable enough for a wedding, nor did she understand the whole concept of marr- anyway I digress.
The wedding venue was located in Kentucky, so Soraya left for Knox County. There she planned ahead to stay at a hotel for the night and would leave after the consult on the following day. However, reports from the news were alarming, that people were coughing and getting sick from these flowers that nobody had really thought much about before. The flight home was canceled, and soon after the wipeout in communication made it impossible for her to connect with her family on getting home.
She had only been on her way to Knox County for a wedding consult.
Going there was supposed to be a work only scenario. Soraya didn't predict getting stuck there.
Post outbreak - Soraya laid low at the beginning. She has always been independent and so this was no different. Slipping between shops, picking up scraps, for the first time in her life, and scavenging any supplies she could find. Soraya wanted to go home. Soraya ended up meeting a group of travelers, and for years they traveled together in a nomadic style around the county. They moved from place to place, but never stayed in one place too long. With them, Soraya learned how to do basic survival skills to stay alive, and became quite handy with a hammer as well. Occasionally Soraya would visit the quarantine zone, to trade for supplies and learn of any local gossip.
