Background

Leena was born on March 17th in 1978 in the northern state of Michigan within the lakeshore city of Grand Haven. Even at birth Leena stood apart from the other newborns in the hospital with her pale skin and Icy blue eyes which caused brief concern of a medical condition but she was just Albino. Over time Leena’s appearance changed with the addition of snow white hair gracing the young girl's head. During her childhood she was adventurous and curious about the world around her which would often get her in trouble with constantly running off to explore the wooden areas and run down the sand dunes next to the lakeshore over and over again. Winter was no different, Running through the snow and playing on the frozen surface of lake Michigan. The young girl loved the many animals the mitten had to offer like painted turtles and hognose snakes wasting no time to give them silly names like Shelly and Mr.noodle and showing them off to any human presence in the area. Starting school at age 5, She would see that life wasn’t always about laughter and fun, Sometimes it could be very harsh. Because of her appearance she would be seen by other kids in her class as different and a clear target by bullies, being given nicknames like “Ghost” and many more. There would be better moments but one she looked forward the most would be during summer vacation when she would go visit her mother and half brother during that period of time on Braddock Island. One day Leena wandered off yet again, playing around and enjoying a small portion of what this new place had to give. She would often be seen on the shoreline in the shallower waters, swimming and messing around like young kids do ..what she didn’t expect was to be approached from behind and being called “Maeve” or “little sister” from the distance being forcefully turned around to face a young boy about her age when she didn’t respond at first. He meeped and she screamed in surprise, using the water to mercilessly splashing the boy as a defense. After calming down Greyson would apologies and explain himself, He was looking for his sister that she looked like. This interested her hearing there was another kid that looked just like her so she volunteered to help him look. Eventually after some effort Maeve was found and in the end this accident was the start of a close friendship between the three. During another summer Leena and her half brother went to a scout camp that was experimenting to have both girls and boys together in activity where she learned ASL with her brother, what started as fun little side thing to do at camp became something she would continue learning about through out her life. After high school the young woman’s visits would stop after she moved to Mackinaw City being more hands on and a “I’ll do it myself.” type of girl at the time spent some time working as a boat mechanic for Star Liners ferry service that operated transportation to and from Mackinac island which she did visit while she was living there. but after a while she found herself feeling lost and looking for more in life. Following in her father's footsteps and leaving this life behind she would move to Lansing the capital of the state, Joining the Police academy and training to become a police officer for the state. It wasn’t easy switching from solo to a team dynamic and once again receiving a new nickname “Snow white.” However one of her squad mate was French Canadian and during their downtime her friend would teach her French on the side. After graduating she would meet her new companion and best friend for years to come, a young germane shepherd puppy she would call Leia after one of her favorite si-fi character and starting her career as a K-9 handler. Throughout the years of her service, Leena bound would grow with Leia taking on cases such as search and recuse, drug and narcotic finding and one disarming situation that involved a drunk guy off the side of Interstate 95 who was drunk armed with a shotgun, despite all these close calls not once did Leena have to take a life with a gunshot something was thankful of. In 1998 Leena received a letter from her half brother that he was going into the military and that their mom wasn’t doing too well lately and needed someone to check on her now and again. The young woman would jump at this quickly and start her visits to Braddock once again to help out while still working for the State Police of Michigan but this would be to much for this officer to bare. She suggested to transfer to Braddock’s PD instead, It was approved and she moved to the island permanently. Shortly afterwards her mother would pass away and Leena would inherit the house living and working on the island for a year, hearing something about some people getting ..more aggressive but.. Maybe this was post stress from the new millennium and nothing else.
