Sindra Graves
She/Her
27 years old
Violent
54 kg
Personality
She has an easy smile and a gentle way about her with those she cares about, but beneath the surface is an unmistakable hard edge. Around strangers she can come across as normal, until something triggers her. When triggered then it's like the ghosts of her past possess her body and her old ways return as a form of self-preservation. The moment someone crosses that line, the walls go up and her sharp tongue will cut the depths of your soul. If pushed she will resort to violence to get her point across. When she sets her sights on something she relentlessly pushes through any pain, fear, or exhaustion rather than backing down. If she is cornered in a fight she is cold, sharp, and unflinching but when around people she trusts she is seen as soft and kind. Although she doesn't talk much about her past, the name Graves carries weight as a reminder to anyone who dares to cross her that even mercy has its limits.
Appearance
Appearance - Sindra is 5'8 with mysterious green eyes and long wavy fire red hair that is usually seen in a loose messy bun. She is very tone as the years on the streets have taught her to stay on top of her game. She has multiple scars and burn marks across her entire body, however the most prominent is a nasty scar across the right side of neck from an injury during her gang initiation. The only part of her body that doesn't have any scars is her face.
Background
Her entire childhood was spent in the foster care system because her mother was a drug addict who lost custody of her the day she was born and her father was unknown. Abuses in each foster home worsened until she ran away to the streets of south Dallas. On the streets, the boys on the corner were the first people to show her kindness by sharing their food and offering a safe place to sleep. This is how she met and fell in love with a local gang member. At first though, they didn't take her seriously until her brother tracked her down and tried to drag her back to the foster home. Hitting a breaking point she grabbed a nearby crowbar and kept swinging until the shouting stopped. Initially charged with attempted murder, the judge ultimately reduced it to assault with a deadly weapon.
She returned home to her new family where her initiation left her with a nasty scar on the right side of her neck. During the time with the gang her fascination with weapons and guns grew into a life consuming hobby. While she was mostly experienced in hand to hand combat, there was also something about a freshly sharpened blade or the smell of a recently fire gun that brought a smile to her face. These talents led her to assisting with the more dangerous jobs of the gang until one day they got busted by the feds. It was then the man she thought she loved cut a deal first trying to pin the worst charges on her. This was the first time it hit her that this "family" would sell her out the second it benefits them. Considering her options she took their deal for witness protection and a chance at a new life. This wasn't about snitching, it was a means of survival.
Witness protection moved her to Knox County to start a new life. While getting settled in, the FBI assigned an agent to watch her but he was mostly concerned with his paperwork and would rarely pop in. Sin had a lot of time alone to try normalcy but she always seemed to crave more. Spending a majority of her life on the streets taught Sin to always be at the top of her game. So she tried joining a gym, but the only thing that interested her was observing the fight trainer. One masked fighter caught her eye as she recognized his lethal fighting style. Over time this man started following her around. One day he went next door and spent hours brutally murdering the couple that lived there. As she listened to their screams thru an open window, Sin sat at the table carefully checking her guns and slowly sharpening knives while lost in trance lightly humming to herself. The sounds she heard reminded her of her past life and were stirring up her demons. Hours later the screaming stopped but in its place the silence became deafening. So she gathered her weapons and slipped out to the only place she ever knew peace, the streets.
Many nights after that were spent either wandering the streets or drinking at the local bar. When she felt her demons creeping up on her, Sin found herself trying to drown them in liquor. For her this became a nightly ritual as it was the only thing that stopped the screaming in her head. She wanted it quiet so she could focus on the soft whispers of her broken heart and pray for the salvation of her soul. It was also during these times that she dreamed of having a different life. A life where she was understood and loved despite the evil that had previously consumed her. She feared though that she was too far gone to ever have a chance at experiencing anything even close to that.
While at the bar she overheard others talking about weird things that were happening. They spoke of objects acting weird in their homes and moving around almost like there were ghosts. She found their stories interesting but honestly didn't give them much thought beyond that. However, one day in early March that all changed. At first it was just a feeling she couldn't shake as even the air felt different. The animals of the neighborhood felt it as well and dogs would not stop barking. Then came a sound she will never forget. It was a deep pounding that sounded like it came from everywhere and nowhere all at once. As she continued walking down the street she heard a loud ripping sound and witnessed a weird light appear that instantly pulled people nearby inside of it. In their place came out these weird undead looking creatures.
Witnessing that made her breathe catch in her throat and after standing in shock for a few moments she fled to a nearby abandoned home and hid in the basement. While hiding she listened to a radio that had been left behind. Everything she heard made her realize how serious things were. With the resources she had on her dwindling she was at a crossroads and had a decision to make. Either head to the MegaMall the radio talked about, or once again take her chances on the streets.
