Background
Minette was born in Mexico as the result of a spontaneous adventure between her parents, her father an American ex-soldier on a vacation and her mother a hotel employee. Her father decided to stay and help during pregnancy and leave enough money after that but Minette's mother ended dying during childbirth due to medical complications and no other relatives where found to take her in, that left her only with her father who didn’t take the situation well and soon started drinking.
Her life in Mexico was nice, she managed to make some friends and did well enough in school, she grew up speaking Spanish as her main language and although her father wasn’t very present his absence allowed her some freedom, she developed relatively happily during that time except for the lack of a maternal figure and the reduced presence of a father who preferred to be in bars.
After finishing school Minette's father decided she was old enough for both of them to move back to America so he took her with him to a town in Texas forcing her to leave behind her friends, she had to start over struggling to learn English as she entered high school.
Compared to her time in Mexico high school wasn’t nice at all, she had trouble adapting and the language barrier affected her grades on the first years and she had to deal with bullying usually getting targeted after classes while at home things weren’t any better. Although her alcoholic father was never physically violent he constantly insulted her and caused problems with the neighbors, problems she usually had to deal with or fix and she wasn’t good for that neither.
Eventually Minette had enough, during her last years in high school she managed to learn English well and decided to fight back her bullies, from that point on she was no longer seen as an easy target. Her grades dropped and she accumulated multiple conduct violations on her last year in high school, with no clear future ahead and nothing tying her down she decided to just escape and leave all that behind, She took what she needed taking advantage of the fact that her father had recently been arrested for starting a bar fight.
After escaping at the age of 18 she survived on the streets by taking quick jobs wherever she could, usually on quick and not too legal works, she moved drugs, gathered information and did small tasks for small gangs but usually evading the conflict even so she got involved in many troubles getting close to get imprisoned In some times, She didn't know then, but each situation prepared her for what was coming.
Strange events began to happen but Minette chose to ignore them, while other people were worried about the strange noises and the unusual weather nothing of that mattered to her as long as she could keep moving and making money but that didn’t last long, eventually, rifts began to appear.
At that point, everything started to collapse, her contacts disappeared, deals fell apart and all kind of organization was gone, survival seem to became not just her but everybody focus.
Minette adapted quickly thanks to her previous experiences all that kept her alive as chaos became the new normal, by then she was already skilled in fighting and able to handle both the undead and the not so friendly survivors, knowing her size she relied on speed, awareness and instinct to survive constantly moving and refusing to stay in one place for too long, but eventually she reached a place she couldn’t escape, Knox.
From the moment she arrived something felt wrong about the place, she tried to leave but every attempt ended the same way, with her finding herself back right where she started again and again.
Minette hated it, she had always fought for herself for the freedom to do and go wherever she wanted but now once more she felt trapped.
